HV DTemp-P Central Unit

Measurement module for the control of the HV DTemp measurement system

The HV DTemp-P Central Unit controls the entire system and is the basis of every HV DTemp measurement setup. Since only one compact measurement module is required outside the HV environment to control up to 512 measurement points, there are enormous weight and space advantages

Highlights

  • Control and power supply of up to 512 temperature measurement points
  • Two digital inputs for a total of up to eight HV DTemp-M controllers
  • Connection of the controllers via a single HV-safe sensor cable
  • Communication via CAN interface
  • Reinforced insulation up to 1,000 V DC

Description

The HV DTemp-P Central Unit controls the entire system and supplies all components with the necessary supply voltage. It is connected to the HV DTemp-Mx controllers, which are located in the HV environment, via a HV-safe cable. If required, two galvanically isolated measurement chains with HV DTemp-Mx controllers can be operated on one HV DTemp-P Central Unit, e.g. if they are to be arranged independently of each other. The measurement data is forwarded to the DAQ software via CAN bus.

Since only one HV-safe sensor cable has to be led out of the HV battery, only one breakthrough (PG gland) is required in the housing. The housing structure is thus only minimally affected and the gas tightness is maintained.

Each of the up to 512 temperature sensors can be uniquely identified via a CAN ID. Only this exact assignment enables precise analyses of the thermal behavior.

HV safety is ensured with reinforced insulation.

Applications

The control of up to 512 temperature measurement points with only one compact measurement module offers enormous space and weight advantages: The measurement module can be easily installed in the vehicle and the DUT is not affected by additional weight. The precise identification of the individual IC sensors allows accurate investigations of the temperature profiles.

With the special configuration software DTempconfig, the individual configuration of the overall system is additionally simplified.

The HV DTemp measurement system is suitable for all demanding temperature measurements with a large number of measurements points in confined installation spaces. The measurement system can be used to determine temperature profiles between the battery cells, especially in HV batteries, e.g. for the optimization and validation of HV batteries in electric or hybrid vehicles.
