HV DTemp-Mx Controller
Controller for addressing and power supply of semiconductor temperature sensors
The HV DTemp-M Controller provides the addressing, the power supply of the sensors and the transmission of the temperature values to the HV DTemp-P Central Unit. The M-series controller was developed for the connection of semiconductor temperature sensors. Due to the compact design, the controllers can be installed within the HV environment.
Highlights
- Control and bundling of up to 64 temperature measurement points (per controller)
- Cascading of up to eight controllers (for a maximum of 512 temperature measurement points)
- Measurement data rate / sending rate: 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 Hz
- Different design for individual adaptation of the measurement setup
Description
The HV DTemp-Mx controllers provide the connection between HV DTemp IC sensors and HV DTemp-P Central Unit. For this purpose they have the following connection options:
- Controllers have 8 or 16 port inputs.
- Depending on the type, up to four IC sensors can be connected per port. This results in up to 64 temperature measurement points per controller.
- For convenient connection, the IC sensors are connected to the ports of the controller via sensor connection cables.
- Up to eight Mx controllers can be cascaded, regardless of type.
- Cascading is performed with the HV DTemp Controller cable (diameter: 2.8 ±0.3 mm; contact safety: 1,000 V DC).
- All controllers are connected to the central unit (outside the HV environment) via a single HV DTemp-P Cable.
The HV DTemp-Mx controllers are available in both an isolated and a non-isolated version. Thus, depending on the requirements of the measurement task, the appropriate controller can be selected with regard to the required number of ports and the desired isolation

Applications
The possibility of addressing a large number of IC sensors with only a few controllers within the HV battery and supplying them with voltage extremely streamlines the measurement setup and ensures that only one HV-safe line has to be routed out of the HV environment.
The different versions of the controllers allow an individual adaptation of the measurement setup to the respective requirements of the measurement task. With their compact design, the HV DTemp controllers can be easily installed inside the battery.
The HV DTemp measurement system is suitable for all demanding temperature measurements with a large number of measurements points in confined installation spaces. The measurement system can be used to determine temperature profiles between the battery cells, especially in HV batteries, e.g. for the optimization and validation of HV batteries in electric or hybrid vehicles.
