Humidity Measurement inside HV Batteries
Filderstadt, September 2025 – CSM is expanding its HV DTemp measurement system with the option of integrating humidity sensors. Thanks to a single pass-through in the battery housing, just one HV-safe cable connects several hundred measurement points for temperature or humidity. In this way, the system combines humidity measurements with precise investigations of temperature profiles inside HV batteries.
During the development of HV batteries, testing is performed with a particular focus on safety and durability, which is why measurements inside the battery housing are necessary. Moisture measurements play a crucial role here, ensuring long-term safe operation. At the same time, the housing should be modified as little as possible to obtain meaningful results and to maintain its gas tightness. CSM is expanding its HV DTemp measurement system with suitable humidity sensors for these applications.
Flexible overall system for confined installation spaces in HV environments
The HV DTemp measurement system offers the option of applying up to 512 temperature or humidity sensors inside the battery, while only one HV-safe cable leads out of the test object. With no more than one pass-through required in the housing, this results in a wide range of applications for the system. The sensors are available customized and tailored to the measurement task in various arrangements. All components are compact in design, allowing them to be used even in confined spaces.
