Fast and synchronous measurements
XCP-Gateway is the interface between the data acquisition software (e. g. vMeasure, CANape®, INCA®, Vision® ...) and the EtherCAT® measurement modules from CSM. It includes an EtherCAT® master and an XCP-on-Ethernet slave.
From a software perspective, the XCP-Gateway serves as an XCP controller with numerous measured quantities. The measurement configurations of the connected measurement modules are written to a single A2L file.
CSM developed the XCP-Gateway for the ECAT MiniModule series and for measurement applications with many measurement channels and high measurement data rates. The "XCP-Gateway pro" versions feature up to two CAN interfaces, thus providing a basis for combined measurement setups with CAN- and EtherCAT®-based measurement modules from CSM. In addition, temperature information from CSM HV Breakout Modules can be transferred via EtherCAT® in the pro-versions.

Electromobility continues to gain momentum. Various energy storage, drive and charging systems pave the way to electric mobility. The development of high-voltage batteries, inverters and electric motors places high demands on measurement technology in order to obtain the right results for further optimization. Together with Vector Informatik, CSM has developed a measurement system that leaves nothing to be desired.
The EtherCAT® measurement technology from CSM offers the highest measurement performance: e.g. for multi-channel applications with more than 1,000 strain gauges - / acceleration transducers and applications with measurement data rates of up to 1 MHz per channel. Manufacturers of measurement devices have to cope with continually increasing requirements. Thus, measurement devices have to acquire and process increasingly large amounts of data. The proven CAN measurement technology is hereby often pushed to its limits. This is why the EtherCAT® field bus is setting new standards regarding bandwidth, maximum number of channels and synchronicity of measurement signals.

Numerous measurement variables in vehicle development and testing can be recorded with sensors that reproduce their respective measured variable as an analog voltage. For example, distance, pressure, flow rates, moisture, vibration and noise can be easily measured.
