We are looking for a self-motivated, charismatic individual, with good team working and organization skills to join our team as a Sales Engineer. This person will assist customers and support Account Managers’ inquiries and technical questions, with regards to the CSM’s products and proposed solutions. Success in this position will lead to advancement as Technical Account Manager or possibly other positions.

The ideal candidate will possess the skills and knowledge listed below, but of equal importance, they will be selfmotivated, have a positive attitude, and need to be a creative thinker with a focus on continuous improvement.

Sales Engineer

Primary Functions

  • Supports existing and potential customers by answering product questions, suggesting information about products and services
  • Fully documents customer activities by recording customer needs, communications, and resolutions in our CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tool
  • Resolves product or service problems by clarifying the customer‘s issue; determining the root cause; selecting and explaining the best solution; expediting correction or adjustment; following up to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Recommends potential products or services to Product Management by collecting customer information, analyzing customer needs, and communicating potential benefits of the new or modified product
  • Creativity and curiosity about how things work beyond the classroom
  • Prepares product or service reports by collecting and analyzing customer information in our CRM
  • Contributes to team effort by successfully completing the customer experience for product training andusage
  • Provide phone, email, IM, and remote webhost support to existing customers
  • Develop additional support documentation and assist with training material
  • Generate reports of open, pending, and closed support issues
  • Maintain a knowledge base and FAQ system for improved efficiency in supporting customers with the same or similar questions
  • Be a technical liaison for all CSM products and supported 3rd party hardware
  • Assist in maintaining the service process for testing and documentation of service product which is in for repair or calibration
  • Travel on occasion (25%) to customer sites to provide sales and engineering support
  • Travel to Germany, (up to 2x per year), to receive product training
  • Provide input to the business/account plans regarding potential revenue generating Training materials and support contracts
  • Provide input to the business/account plans regarding potential revenue generating Training materials
  • Prepares product or service reports by collecting and analyzing customer information in our CRM
  • Contributes to team effort by successfully completing the customer experience for product training andusage
  • Provide phone, email, IM, and remote webhost support to existing customers
  • Manages the inventory and tracking system for demonstration / loaner equipment

Qualifications

  • 2- or 4-year Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Automotive, Mechanical, or similar technical programs
  • 1-3 years of experience in Data Acquisition, Embedded Software, Calibration, or Controls Development
  • Demonstrated professional phone and email communication capabilities
  • Problem solving and conflict management skills
  • Knowledge in (CAN) Controller Area Networks and Ethernet protocols
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint

Preferences

  • Experience with a wide variety of sensors and measurement technologies
  • Familiarity with ECU and automotive engineering practices
  • Technical writing experience
  • Experience with Vector CANape, CANoe, CANalyzer; ETAS INCA; ATI Vision
  • Knowledge of XCP-on-Ethernet and/or EtherCAT® is a plus
