INSTALLATION
Software for computer
- Download driver and firmware package (see DOWNLOAD section above).
- If you are planning to use USB interface of UNICOM, install USB drivers (for Windows). Refer to directory driver/ in ZIP package and read PDFs for more information.
- For tests and debugging, the utility unicmd may be helpful (see TOOLS section).
Hardware installation
- There are several models and revisions for UNICOM devices. See this page for differences.
- For all information about supply, connectors and signals of UNICOM, refer to PDF in ZIP package:

uc3/doc/uc3_c_hardware.pdf for UNICOM3 Rev.C1 and Rev.C - CAUTION: Before hardware installation take care that there is no static electrical discharge on the device or any other system component. Discharge yourself by touching a grounded object.
Firmware for UNICOM device
- Check the firmware in the UNICOM device. Refer to firmware/ directory in ZIP package.
- For UNICOM3 and UNICOM4, use the sequence file for update process. There are separate firmware files for the different hardware revisions of UNICOM.
- CAUTION: Do not load older firmware versions into the devices. Firmware downgrade is not allowed and may affect device operation.
Project-specific procedures
- Information about the connections to other systems (like ECUs or any unit-under-test) can be found in separate project-specific software delivery packages.
- Project-specific solutions are available upon request.
MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR
CSM provides services for maintenance and repair of UNICOM devices. Please contact unicom@csm.de for individual details. Before returning your devices, visit CSM Support/RMA Form to get a RMA number.
